Lideranças das nações Yawalapiti, do Mato Grosso, e Kayapó, do Pará, denunciaram ontem à Comissão de Direitos Humanos da Câmara dos Deputados a adoção ilegal de crianças indígenas por duas organizações evangélicas – a brasileira Atini Voz Pela Vida e a americana Jovens Com Um Ideal (Jocum). Segundo os caciques, as duas entidades sequestram crianças com a desculpa de que estão evitando o infanticídio. No documento, endereçado aos deputados Luiz Couto (PT-PB), presidente da comissão, e Janete Pietá (PT-SP), relatora do projeto de lei prevendo a prisão dos pais que mantiverem a tradição de sacrificar crianças que nascem com deficiências físicas e mentais, representantes das duas tribos acusam a Atini e a Jocum de difamarem os índios e suas tradições utilizando a internet e os meios de comunicação para anunciar a prática de infanticídio.

Os caciques das duas etnias solicitam a suspensão da tramitação do projeto de lei que criminaliza várias tradições indígenas. Apresentado pelo deputado Henrique Afonso (PT-AC), o projeto prevê a prisão de um a seis meses de indígenas que mantiverem a tradição ou de qualquer outra pessoa que souber do fato e não denunciar à polícia. A punição, portanto, se estenderá a funcionários públicos ou ONGs que atuam na área. A lei proposta por Afonso admite a retirada provisória da criança e dos pais que discordarem da prática das aldeias e sua transferência para abrigos mantidos por entidades governamentais e ONGs. “A proposta de lei assustou a comunidade indígena, que não quer submeter suas tradições a ações da Polícia Federal”, protestou o índio Anuiá, líder da comunidade Yawalapiti. Ele garantiu que o sacrifício de crianças indígenas doentes foi abandonado em quase todas as aldeias do país.
Segundo o cacique Aritana, há dezenas de casos de desaparecimento de crianças indígenas adotadas por militantes das entidades evangélicas Atini e Jocum com a desculpa de estarem impedindo o infanticídio. As duas instituições são as patrocinadoras do projeto de lei encampado pelo deputado, que é evangélico.
O relatório da deputada Janete Pietá, não acata a proposta de Afonso de criminalizar os pais pelo sacrifício de crianças com deficiências. Pietá considera a proposta de punição “um equívoco”, e sugere a criação de um conselho tutelar indígena para tratar dessas situações. Na campanha contra o infanticídio, a Atini e a Jocum produziram o documentário de ficção Hakani, veiculado no site YouTube, que conta a história de uma menina da etnia Suruwahá que nasceu com síndrome de Down e foi salva pelo irmão mais velho. A menina, hoje adolescente e vivendo em Brasília, foi adotada por um casal de linguistas da Atini. O filme gerou protestos da Funai, que considerou a campanha uma interferência externa nas tradições dos Suruwahá.

Editorial: A conveniente versão para praticar infanticídio indígena
Eu não conheço qualquer indígena com problemas físicos. Descobri que as crianças nascem e quando são portadoras de qualquer deficiência são sumariamente mortas em nome da tradição e da cultura. Isso é fato.
Alguns líderes indígenas entraram na Comissão de Direitos Humanos da Câmara acusando as entidades Atini Voz pela Vida e a Jovens Com Uma Missão (JOCUM) de seqüestrarem crianças com a desculpa de infanticídio. Acontece que no meio da mata – índio não tem registro ou mesmo certidão de nascimento – sem que ninguém tome conhecimento eles sacrificam essas crianças. Alguém conhece uma criança índia com deficiência? Será que todas nascem perfeitas? Eles fazer o infanticídio na mata e ninguém fica sabendo.
Essas entidades evangélicas se compadecem das crianças e trazem para a civilização para que possam ter direito a vida e de se recuperar. Quem não se compadece de uma criança que por deficiência será enterrada viva ou abandonada no meio da selva pra morrer? Eu também não deixaria que fossem mortas!
Atualmente os Yanomamis querem retirar uma criança e interromper o tratamento no hospital em Manaus para levá-la para aldeia. Essa criança, pelo quadro clinico, embora com chances de sobreviver, estará sendo leva pra morte. Que recursos médicos tem uma aldeia? Vão acabar pondo fim na vida dessa menina.
Se fosse no século XV continuaria sendo um erro, mas naquela época não haveria o entendimento e os recursos médicos de hoje. Não devemos compactuar com infanticídio ou qualquer outro tipo de crime em nome da cultura indígena, menos ainda nos dias de hoje, onde os índios que reclamam na CDH da Câmara são aculturados e convivem tranquilamente com o luxo e as benesses da civilização moderna. Já que tem esses bônus, têm que arcar com o ônus das leis vigentes, inclusive e principalmente a criminal. Eles conhecem a Lei e como qualquer brasileiro consciente devem se submeter a elas.
Certa vez alguém me definiu o seguinte procedimento de uma minoria indígena: “Quando o índio quer beber no buteco, ele é branco e quer o mesmo direito da população consumidora, mas quando está bêbado criando problema no bar e a Polícia chega, ele alega que é índio e por isso inimputável”. Existem índios e índios.
A igreja tem que dá conta dos que já são fiéis e depois se preocupar com os outros que tem costumes diferentes, se não damos conta de nossas próprias vidas como cuidaremos das dos outros?
Independente de Igreja ou qualquer outra instituição, alguém em sã conciência e em nome de qualquer cultura, apoia o infanticídio (morte de crianças em rituais)? A igreja e agências missionárias têm tomado a iniciativa e você?

Sou missionário de Jovens com uma missão em tempo integral, e connheço bem o trabalho do Suzuki e da Márcia junto ao atini, já fui diversas vezes na sede do atini, e posso ver nos olhos dos pais e das mães, a alegria de ter um filho salvo, e muitas vezes a tristeza de não poder voltar para sua etnia de origem, normalmente quando uma criança é retirada para fazer tratamento a familia inteira vem para Brasila, para os índios, ter muitos filhos é um sinal de benção, mas uma criança deficiente, é uma maldição que afetará toda a tribo, acho que a nossa ignorancia sobre o assunto e principalmente o derrespeito a Deus, e ao ser humano é que permite que as igrejas brasileiras fechem seus olhos para essa realidade, fiquei assustado com a declaração do Jesus Alves aqui em cima, depois refletindo bem, eu pensei: com o que eu estou me escandalisando? O que essa pessoa falou é o reflexo da igreja nos dias de hoje. Fui em várias manifestações do atini para aprovação das leis junto ao congresso nacional, sabe quem apoia as leis contra o infanticidio no congresso? A bancada catolica e a bancada espirita! E nós cristãos chamados evangélicos só ficamos ofendidos quando se cogitou a saida de todos os missionário e por consequencia, das igrejas nas áreas indigenas. Ou seja um templo vale mais que uma vida, olhe para os grades centros urbanos e perceba quantas criaças estão abondonadas nas ruas não só pelos seus pais, mas por nós evangélicos! Mas como disse o cara aqui em cima que ironicamente tem o nome de Jesus, “vamos cuidar dos fieis e depois se preocupar com os outros”, é desse evangelho que eu quero distancia!
